Eligibility Criteria

For Retired Bank Employees

  • Experience: Retired officers (including voluntarily retired) up to the rank of Chief Manager from any PSU bank, or retired clerks from Bank of Baroda with JAIIB qualification.
  • Rural Banking Experience: At least 3 years of experience in rural banking.
  • Age Limit: Maximum age for continuation is 65 years.

For Young Candidates

  • Education: Minimum graduation with knowledge of MS Office, email, and internet. Higher qualifications like M.Sc. (IT), BE (IT), MCA, or MBA will be preferred.
  • Age Limit: 21-45 years at the time of appointment, with a maximum continuation age of 65 years.

Geographical Preference

  • Candidates should preferably be from the same district where they will be assigned. If not available, candidates from neighboring districts may be considered.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in reading and writing the local language and dialect is essential.

Contract Duration

  • Initial Period: 36 months (subject to review every 12 months).

Roles and Responsibilities

BC Coordinators will play a vital role in monitoring and supporting the activities of Business Correspondents to ensure banking services reach every corner of their assigned areas. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Monitoring Activities: Regularly monitor BC operations to ensure service availability and adherence to guidelines.
  2. Community Engagement: Conduct meetings and financial literacy sessions to promote banking services and encourage community participation.
  3. Grievance Redressal: Address customer and BC grievances and report to the link branch and Regional Office.
  4. Operational Oversight: Ensure BCs are active during working hours, conduct no offline transactions, and adhere to the prescribed norms.
  5. Target Setting and Evaluation: Monitor the performance of BCs against monthly targets, and coordinate business development efforts in alignment with financial inclusion goals.
  6. Training and Development: Organize training programs for BCs to keep them updated with operational guidelines and technical skills.

Remuneration

BC Coordinators will receive a combination of fixed and variable components:

Termination and Discontinuation

  • Bank’s Right: The contract can be terminated by the bank with a 30-day notice, or instantly in case of misconduct.
  • Employee’s Right: Coordinators can also terminate the contract by giving a 30-day notice.
